With the 2021 NFL Draft just hours away, several prospects are anxiously awaiting their names being called within the next few days, one of them being Houston-native, Quintin Morris.

Morris was a three-year letter winner for the George Ranch Longhorn football team where he played a pivotal role in the team’s success, as he helped them win a 5A State Championship. After being a high school prospect that many considered was overlooked, Morris would go on to accept a scholarship to Bowling Green State University where he would become a breakout star in the Mid-American Conference.

When asked about his time spent at Bowling Green, Morris best describes it as “one big learning experience”. He took on the role as a team leader early in his career and often took on the responsibility of keeping the team together through times of adversity. As the team was experiencing coaching staff changes Morris would undergo a change of his own, moving from wide receiver to tight end at the beginning of his junior year. This same year, the new coaching staff moved the offense from air raid to pro-style, which Morris believes has best prepared him for his endeavors in the NFL. In the conclusion of Morris’ career at Bowling Green, he caught 125 receptions for 1,529 yards and 13 touchdowns, earning all-conference honors in both his Junior and Senior seasons.

After a prosperous career at Bowling Green, Morris decided to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft. While fulfilling a childhood dream, he also accepted an invitation to play in one of the most prestigious showcases in college football, the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

While being from a smaller conference can sometimes raise doubt, all uncertainty regarding Morris’ ability to produce against top competition was answered with his exceptional performance at the Senior Bowl. Following his performance, he has ranked the second-best tight end amongst college seniors at the showcase per www.profootballnetwork.com. NFL scouts described him as “athletic, reliable and proven against top competition” (www.profootballnetwork.com). He described his Senior Bowl performance as, “the icing on the cake” as he was able to show scouts that he can compete against elite talent in college football, coming from a smaller school.

What does an NFL team have to look forward to in Quintin Morris? A versatile tight end who can move like a receiver. One message that Morris would like to send any NFL team that is thinking about drafting him is, “don’t be that team that had too much pride to take a chance on a small school guy and now has to kick themselves in the head every Sunday, they meet me.”

Through several learning experiences in college and endless caught passes, it is safe to say that Quintin Morris is ready for the next level.
